Hi @alanajjar - the Reading Web team have a few questions about this change and we were wondering if you could help us with forwarding them to the arwiki community. Before the first paragraph move (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Reading/Web/Projects/Lead_Paragraph_Move), infoboxes appeared in primary position prior to the beginning of the article content. This placement exposed readers to details on a subject prior to gathering context or and introduction to the subject, which can often be confusing. This issue was particularly heightened for topics unfamiliar to users, where they would be required to scroll through the content of the infobox to confirm whether they are reading the correct article. We implemented the change to create consistency between the mobile and desktop websites (on desktop, the first paragraph also has primary placement), as well as to expose users to the subject of the article prior to requiring them to scroll through the infobox. In addition, the change also improved the performance of the site by significantly decreasing the average page load time, allowing users to see the content on the page faster than before: https://blog.wikimedia.org/2017/06/15/mysterious-performance-improvement/.

We are worried that reverting this change will re-introduce these issues and negatively affect the reading experience for all users of the arwiki mobile website. Could you give us some detail on the reasoning behind the decision? In particular, which aspects of the change do you find to be worse than the previous version? We apologize for not being aware of this conversation and a part of the discussion while it was happening and we would really appreciate the opportunity to reach out again prior to implementing a change such as this. Thank you and we’re looking forward to getting some further feedback!
