Hi,
I'm the Product Manager for the Audiences:Readers:Discovery team and @mpopov and @chelsyx are the team's data analysts working for the WMF. The Discovery Department was recently re-orged into two separate teams and we continue to work closely with the Tech:Search Platform team as well.
Please add @mpopov and @chelsyx to WMF-NDA so that they can continue to provide effective and timely analyst support.
Looking at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Volunteer_NDA we still don't have a clear process to add WMF staff to WMF-NDA.
It is unclear to me if C-Level have to sign off such requests.
Verification for these Phab accounts:
- https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/chelsyx/ is attached to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/User:CXie_(WMF)
- https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth/CXie_(WMF) says account was created on meta
- https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Log?page=User:CXie_(WMF) says account was created by a trusted OIT member. Hence fine.
- https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth/CXie_(WMF) says account was created on meta
- https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/mpopov/ is attached to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/User:MPopov_(WMF)
- https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth/MPopov_(WMF) says account was created on enwp
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Log?page=User:MPopov_(WMF) only says "account was created".
- https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth/MPopov_(WMF) says account was created on enwp
And I can only check L2 ("Trusted Volunteer Access & Confidentiality Agreement") but cannot check some paper NDAs in some office far away.

@JKatzWMF I found that Chelsy and I weren't included in the group after trying to view a ticket that Tilman linked. Do you know if @Tnegrin needs to sign off on this? Can someone check our paper NDAs? Also apparently Deb was automatically added to the group, but we weren't.

That's not correct - see T122920.
As a small note: I was not auto-added, but after @Deskana verified me, I was added into the group.
The process is that you link your Phabricator accounts to your on-wiki staff accounts (which has been done) and that your manager gives approval (which @JKatzWMF did above). I can also vouch for both of you, as your former manager. Since these steps have been done, I don't know why this is held up. I'd add you myself, but I don't have the ability to do that.
Also thanks for handling this! (I am still waiting for an email reply from HR about verifying NDAs in general... :-/ )
In the early Phabricator days @chasemp got a blanket approval to add verified Foundation staff to the WMF-NDA group without additional paperwork. Opinions may or may not have changed since then, but this is the 'authority' I have been applying.
