@cmadeo hope it's okay that I made this task and assigned it to you :) Feel free to merge if you already have a task for this work; we just want a way to track the design progress in Phab. Also feel free to add other projects/tags as needed, obvs.

@Capt_Swing this is great, thanks!

Wrote to @Volker_E today with some context on the project.

Will meet with @Volker_E on September 7 (tentatively). @cmadeo @Capt_Swing : we should aim to have the design iterations and missing content items roughly completed by then so we can assess what level of effort would be needed.

Notes from the meeting:

  • Header layout options to be decided in Design team and then proposed to Researchers
  • Contribute to GitHub link in header will be replaced by (probably) icons of other research representations like Meta or Twitter
  • News page layout still to be provided by @cmadeo:
    • We'll go for reusing the 3 cards column on top of the News page and will possibly provide one featured news item after the launch
    • Rest of News content will be a bullet list, similar to I4OC
  • Change weighing of Milestones content, so dates are metadata and headlines get strongest appearance
  • Also removing external link icons as most links are external and it doesn't seem to provide useful information
