There are already numerous tasks about changing uses of the Wikimedia Foundation logo to the new black one. The footer on wikis with "A Wikimedia project" still uses the RGB logo. Should that get adjusted too?

Change 376150 had a related patch set uploaded (by Odder; owner: Odder):
[operations/mediawiki-config@master] Update logo in the footer button image
I'm not exactly sure whether the "Wikimedia" in the logo refers to the Wikimedia Foundation (who use the black-only logo) or the Wikimedia movement (who still use the RGB logo?), so I'll let someone who knows the details make the call here.
The patch, in the meantime, is ready to be merged.
@Ladsgroup Let's please wait for Comms and @Varnent feedback here.
From a UI-Standardization standpoint we should also take the opportunity and think about the way those buttons are fabricated and styled. It's long overdue to align these.
The button links to wikimediafoundation.org rather than wikimedia.org so I interpret it as being the WMF logo. If the conclusion is that it's about the movement the the link should probably be updated to reflect this.
Foundation Communications is working on some updates to this icon. The font is also outdated and overall has not been touched in several years - so ideal is to start with a new file rather than modify existing. Our graphics folks are working on it. No changes to URL planned or requested.
I know you are very busy but it would be great if you let us know about the progress (and one month passed from my question)
It is a rather low priority task for Comms - so no immediate ETA. I know the design folks are working on some options.
It should be questioned whether a button means ‘a Wikimedia [Foundation] project’ or ‘a Wikimedia [movement] project’ before using the new lifeless mark that WMF folks have came up with. To me, for example, this is not quite apparent (yes, it links to WMF site, but that’s more or less because the movement as a whole doesn’t have one).
@Varnent: Three years later, are there any news to share?
Also, the previous comments don't explain what/who exactly this task is stalled on ("If a report is waiting for further input (e.g. from its reporter or a third party) and can currently not be acted on"). Hence resetting task status (as WMF Communications or design folks don't seem to be a third party).
