Set up our new MX480 @ esams. This includes:
- Racking and powering up
- Initial configuration (mgmt/console/etc)
- JunOS upgrade (either 16.x or 15.1 with Junos Continuity Package)
Went with 15.1F5.15 + Junos Continuity Package, as 15.1 is JTAC recommended, we don't have any device running 16.x and going through the changelog no feature from 16 seems to stand out
- Finalize configuration: interfaces, protocols, etc.. from cr1-esams
Cables/optics: requested in T215990
In a maintenance window:
- Prepare Puppet/DNS changes
- Ensure cr3 config is similar to cr1
- Ensure cr3 is running up to date code version
- Depool esams
- Verify vrrp master is on cr2
- Power down cr1
- Move cr1 transit/transports to cr3
- Connect and configure asw-oe14<->cr3
- Connect and configure asw-oe16<->cr3
- Update Netbox/DNS/Monitoring
- Verify monitoring is all green, BGP/LACP/OSPF/BFD sessions are UP
- Repool esams
- Power-off, factory reset, unrack cr1-esams
- cleanup conserver config, update inventory
- Update interfaces descriptions, interface PTRs etc
