Description

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki
  2. Click ULS icon at the top
  3. Type ap into the search
  4. Observe "No search results"
  5. Clear the search
  6. Click "Display Settings"
  7. Click "Cancel"
  8. Type ap into the search

Observed: Search results for a are displayed
Expected: "No search results" is displayed

I can't reproduce this issue on mediawiki.org.
