Change the logo of huwiktionary
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Currently huwiktionary's logo (shown in the upper right corner) is the on-wiki Wiki.png. It has no copyright data, so it should be deleted in favor of the Commons image Wiktionary-logo-hu.png (or its SVG version). However, first the wiki config should be changed to load the logo file from elsewhere, probably from Commons.

Why do you need VP announcement for modifying the URL of the logo without changing the image itself? I can delete the file right now without any config changes, just I’ll break the site.

BTW, when I asked the same for Wikiquote in T93176, there were no objections.

The change for logo will deployed tomorrow

Reopened deployment failed, due to scap failures not due to the patch it will be deploy when the issues are fixed

@Zppix I deleted the image when you closed the task, and it seems to work. Probably the patch isn’t needed at all? Or just the image hasn’t disappeared yet?

What does “up-to-date” mean? I can’t see any visual differences between the deleted, the currently visible and the patch’s version.

When I compared the 2 images yesterday, it looked to me like the "new" version had a transparent background while the "old" one didn't. I didn't notice any other differences.

I’m lost about which version is which, but the currently visible one seems to be transparent.

@Tacsipacsi its not it appears that way due to the image and skin having same background, in other news the patch will be deployed hopefully tomorrow.

The linked image is certainly transparent: on the page, its background is the same color as the page, if I hover over it in the Firefox inspector, it’s checkered, and if I open it as a standalone image, the background is solid gray (the default background color of Firefox for transparent images).
