eqiad: networking audit for support contract renewal
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

@Cmjohnson,

In reviewing for the upcoming juniper support contract renewal, I've come across some items that I cannot tie together between what Juniper says we have, and what racktables says we have. Please review the below and see if you can determine where they are:

S/N: TA3716160376 - this shows as a QFX5100 in Plainfield, Indiana. So something isn't correct. Trying to determine where these two serials are, so asking both you and Mark about them. Is this a switch newly ordered for eqiad?

@RobH I want to confirm that I do have 2 spares still in their original packaging in storage.

@Cmjohnson: Can you add both of these to racktables, and label them with asset tags? They should just be in the 'spare rack' and be labeled with the following:

hostnames: qfx5100-spare[1|2]-eqiad (this matches what we have in codfw)
support contract id: 0068045034
support contract expiry: 2017-07-31

Perhaps the phab task is on the packing slip with them? If not please let me know and we can try to track down the purchase date. The support contract expiry is a year after purchase, so we got these in 2016-07.

I'm tracking these as one-off's on my juniper renewal, but once they are in racktables it'll be much easier.

they are in racktables and now being tracked int eh spares rack in eqiad.
