Make better use of Commons:Monuments database/Unknown fields
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

With T117330: Solution of "unknown fields" from monument lists being solved and T176200: Add usage instructions to "unused images" reports being worked on is obvious that Commons:Monuments database/Unknown fields can be put to better use.

One solution is to rebuild it to look like Commons:Monuments database/Unused images with an explanation and usage instructions at that the top and statistics (with todays links) in the bottom. From the top of each country report a link to this page could be added.

Adding a link to the relevant row template to the top of each country report at the same would probably also make it easier for volunteers to discover if something is a typo or a newly introduced parameter.

Event Timeline

Does this sound like a sensible thing to do @Effeietsanders @JeanFred? It would tell local organisers what these cryptic reports mean and how simple typos can be fixed. The stats would give wikignomes a starting point for helping out.

This was a good plan, and unless I’m mistaken it’s done now correct ? :)

Whats possibly left is informing national organisers about these? There might already be a task for that

Lokal_Profil claimed this task.

Whats possibly left is informing national organisers about these? There might already be a task for that

That would be T200318: Inform organisers about how to make use of the Unknown_fields report(s)

For arcive happiness this was resolved by[[ https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/390169 | gerrit:390169]] and
