@Stryn Thanks for the report. I can't reproduce this issue, but it's not that surprising since so little detail is given. Please provide more details for us to diagnose this problem, such as the page you were editing, if you made any changes, what changes you made, your browser and operating system versions, gadgets you're running, custom CSS or JS you're running, and anything else you think might possibly be relevant.

Happens on Chrome 61, new Firefox desktop, and also on Firefox mobile version. So no matter of what browser you are using.
I also edited as logged out, without any gadgets enabled (incognito mode) on Chrome and still got the same.

Reproduce:

  1. Open whatever page on whatever wiki
  2. Edit the page using visual editor, here is a link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random?veaction=edit
  3. Make some changes, whatever you want

  5. Save the page
  6. Page gets saved as you wanted, but the message says "The page has been restored".

I finally managed to reproduce this. The missing detail is that you're using either the core, 2006, or 2010 wikitext editors. This problem does not exist in the 2017 wikitext editor.

Sorry, yes, I'm using the default editor, which is the 2010 editor, I suppose.

Deskana set the point value for this task to 1.
Deskana moved this task from To Triage to TR1: Releases on the VisualEditor board.

This is a relatively minor issue, but I bet it's probably fairly easy to fix, so it'd be nice to get it fixed rather than letting it lie around for ages.

This should be fixed now (via T223651) when switching from VE without changes. Switching with changes still causes the problem.
