JMinor moved this task from Needs Triage to Bug Backlog on the Wikipedia-iOS-App-Backlog board.

This is a good catch. Looks good to me. Per our standup discussion @cmadeo and I are ok with the change relative to background/foreground of the app.

Tested on iPhone 7 (iOS 11.0.2) with Wikipedia 5.7.1 app (1259). I don't know whether it's fixed, I considered the W tap action to always be a pass during regressions. When it scrolls to the top, the presentation is exactly the same as when Explore is opened for the first time (with the search bar present), but I'll let the staff decide.
