Calculate monthly mobile Wikipedia edits for Major Gifts report [due Dec 6]
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi Neil,

You've done these calculations several times for me -- the last time in May 2017 for a funding report -- and I'm doing a new funding report that requires updated mobile edits. Can you run the numbers again? I'd need mobile edits from May 2017 through (hopefully) October 2017. You've been able to broke them down into:

All mobile Wikipedia edits: > Article edits > Non-article edits > English Wikipedia edits > Non-English Wikipedia edits > App edits

I'd love to get these numbers in three weeks -- by December 6 -- but if you need another week, till December 13, that's good, too. I'm attaching a screen shot of the last mobile editing chart that I used based on numbers that you calculated.

Thanks so much. I always appreciate your help on these calculations!

Jonathan

Hey @JCuriel!

I'm happy to do this, and I'm pretty sure I can get it by December 6 as well.

Also, big thanks for filing a Phab task directly—it makes that much easier for me!

I've been working on this over the past couple of days. It's taking longer than normal because I'm trying to get it fully automated so future iterations will be easier, but I'm still hoping to finish by the end of the day.

Another update: I'm through the infrastructure automation, and now I'm actually running the queries. I should be finished by the end of the day.

Done! As before, the results are in this spreadsheet (this time in a tab named "2017-12 run").

I've made the calculations a lot more automated, so it should be much easier to do other runs of this in the future or to hand it off to another analyst. The code is in this GitHub repo.

Thanks so much Neil! Really appreciate your help on this!!!!
