@jmatazzoni pointed me out that https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Enhanced_recent_changes is not up to date due to the release of the new filters for everyone by default.
Suggestions from Joe's notes:
- Change page name.
- As far as I know, the term “Enhanced recent changes” is not shown anymore to users. It’s only in the code—and in this Help page. The preference is now officially known as “Group changes by page in recent changes and watchlist.” (mediawiki:Tog-usenewrc)
- For the page title, I’d shorten that to “Group changes by page.”
- Remove all mentions of “Enhanced recent changes,” “enhanced watchlist” “Recent changes (enhanced)” etc. Anything with “enhanced” — there are 9 mentions of the word on the page.
- Rewrite the first paragraph including notably groups changes per day:
- "On the Recent Changes preference page, a preference for “Group changes by page in recent changes and watchlist” provides an alternative way to look at the lists of changes on these pages. As the name suggests, “Group changes by page” causes all changes made to a particular page(during a given day) to be shown in a group. (For this purpose, “day" is defined according to local time.) For each group, changes are shown in chronological order, with the newest at the top. "
Other possible changes
- move that documentation to mediawiki.org
- mark it for translation
