Raw HTML tags / wikitext displayed after deleting a page on French Wikibooks
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

For several years, the French Wikibooks displays the recent edits on the "deletion done" page to improve the admins work.

However, for a few weeks, we didn't touch anything but every time I delete a page, after the operation I get the following RC header with metacharacters (example from https://fr.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=Discussion_utilisateur:Adama_SINGUEPIRE&action=delete)

Removing Wikimedia-Site-requests project tag as this is not a request to change configuration.
What are "metacharacters"? Could you please describe

  • what you expect to see
  • what exactly you see instead?

Is this about the <strong> in your screenshot, or something else?

If this is about raw HTML tags, I cannot reproduce the problem on https://fr.wikibooks.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Deletedtext

Yes, the bug concerns the raw HTML and wikicode.

Moreover, I can't see it too in your URL with my account: it only occurs after the deletion operation.

PS: if you need a few pages to delete, you can pick those which don't point to "Photographie/*" into https://fr.wikibooks.org/wiki/Sp%C3%A9cial:Redirections_cass%C3%A9es

I can imagine that some translated message does not have some markup tag closed (e.g. <p>Message lacks some </p>).

Thanks, but I'm not an admin so I cannot delete pages. :)

This was caused because you were transcluding {{:Special:RecentChanges}} in system message before it was removed.
