"Hide probably good edits" should not hide my own edits on Special:Contributions/Myself
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

A number of reports at en.wp after this rollout where the user cannot see his own contributions on Special:Contributions, where the Contributions page he is looking at is his own.

I think it's a reasonable expectation that I myself am not a vandal in reviewing my edits.

Hi @Izno. So if I understand your request, it's that you want to turn off the Revision Scoring preferences on the Contributions page, but only when you are viewing your own contributions. Is that right?

If so, that makes sense. But perhaps we don't need to change the functionality. A couple of questions:

  • What is your purpose in turning on the Revision Scoring preferences (on Recent Changes, Related Changes and Contributions)?
  • Do you normally want Revision Scoring on Contributions—presumably for reviewing the contributions of other users? Or do you mostly use the Rev Scoring features on Recent Changes and Related Changes (and maybe Watchlist)?

Here's why I ask: if your main purpose in using the Revision Scoring preferences is to take advantage of them on Recent Changes and Related Changes, you can just turn the Rev Scoring preferences off. You don't need them.

Instead, you can use the new "Edit Quality" filters of the New Filters for Edit Review UX, along with the user-defined highlighting provided, to get exactly the same effect. Just set the filters up the way you like them, use the bookmark to create a Saved Filter, and then declare the filter set your Default on that page. Voila, in effect you've created a new "preference" that works only on the page or pages where you implement it.

Would that work for you? Or is Rev Scoring on Contributions something that's useful for you?

The answer here is to turn the feature off locally, on the Contributions page, when you want to see your own stuff. Unfortunately, the ability to uncheck "hide probably good edits" (overriding the preference) has been broken. But it will be fixed when T182911, which should roll out this week.
