The favicon is a variant of upstream's, not ours. It's been decided at T157226 that ours should be preferable here.

the colors have been customized to be consistent with our favicon. Maintaining custom graphics for every upstream change is hard. Just keeping the custom colors took a significant amount of my time in the gimp already. Since our favicon is based on upstream's old favicon then it makes sense that we use a variant of upstream's new favicon to keep up with the times.
