Description

Similar to T176427

pfw1-eqiad and pfw2-eqiad are ready to be decommissioned and unracked. Please follow the steps below:

  • - Have someone with root on the device to issue the command request system zeroize media
  • - have either @RobH or @ayounsi attempt to connect to the pfw device via the SCS connection. If it now has defaults, and not our own logins, it works.
  • - AFTER device is confirmed reset back to factory defaults, unrack it.
  • - move to decom rack in racktables
  • - remove all network and power cables
  • - please note the SCS ports these connect to on this task, as @RobH will need them to remove from the scs config.
  • - add to decom tracking sheet
  • - escalate this back to @RobH to remove the scs config

@Cmjohnson can actually do everything I can do on the scs, so he can feel free to do all of those steps or assign to me (if he is busy with other onsite things.) Whatever is easiest for him is fine by me.

I looked at scs-c1-eqiad and pfw1 and pfw2 are not there. You might need to connect directly to the firewalls to do the wipe.

These are off the racks, zeroized, the scs ports were re-used with the new frack switches and the port descriptions were updated.
