Switching an image to "basic" blanks the caption and alt text

Description

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a page with an existing thumbnail image.
  2. Click on the image, and under "Advanced Settings", switch from thumbnail to basic.
  3. See the caption and alt text disappear.

It might be nice if the caption were preserved (in case it's a mistake), and alt text should always be preserved.

This might be related to T72603: Please warn if user adds caption for a pic but then chooses an image type that won't display it.

I don't see this happen. I edited an image, and switching to "basic" left the alt/caption fields populated. Hitting "apply changes" then going back to edit it again showed that the caption field had been cleared out, but the alt-text was still present.

More reproduction details needed, I guess?

The alt text was visible in the box, but it disappeared when I saved the page.
