Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

When making edits with VisualEditor, HTML and Wikitext is sometimes added to the page, replacing parts of the content. Example of this behaviour: P6720. The added HTML starts at line 95.

This occurs on a MediaWiki installation running on a Windows server. Versions:

  • MediaWiki 1.30.0
  • VisualEditor 0.1.0 (61f161a)

Example diffs (not accessible without login):

The unexpected text is not visible when editing with VE, but instantly from published changes.

There are errors related to this change in the parsoid log, starting from line 205 in P6721

Event Timeline

Tagging this with VisualEditor, in hope that someone there has an idea why this happens. The parsoid log (P6721) have some errors, but I can't tell if they're related to this.

I can't triage this without being able to reproduce the issue. What were the exact steps that you took that caused this HTML to be inserted?
