This is a bunch of ideas of how adding words to Lexical Wikidata will work from the perspective of an end user.

There are a few end user personas I can think of; each of them probably deserves their own tasks.

1. A person who knows two languages: one in which many words are stored in Lexical Data already, and another one in which there are few words. Seeing a list of untranslated words and contributing a translation for each of them, even without detailed grammatical metadata, will be useful, so this can be done in a simply call and response interface, for example a Telegram chat or a simple web rows interface (like in the Translate extension):
   • dog

2. A person who knows a language well and understands basic grammatical terms: part of speech, gender, aspect, register, etc. This person can add grammatical metadata for words that are already in the dictionary, but lack the necessary fields.
3. A person who is good at writing definitions can add definitions for words that lack them.
4. A word can be contributed straight from a report by a spelling dictionary. For example: A spelling dictionary in Wikipedia's Visual Editor marks a word as a mistake. The editor believes that the word is correct, and clicks a button to add it do a dictionary, but instead of adding it to a personal dictionary, the word is added to a common dictionary for the benefit of all editors. This is, more or less, the opposite direction of T186429: Lexical Data user scenario: Exporting Lexical Data to create a spelling dictionary. I can imagine two ways in which this can work:
   • Just send the word quickly for further processing an experienced Lexical Data editor. The advantage of this is that editing the Wikipedia article is not interrupted. The disadvantage is that this may create a backlog.
   • Open a form for adding a whole entry to Lexical Data. This is thorough, but possibly distracting, and if filling the form is too complex to be filled, the word may end up unreported.

Some of the personas can be combined, for example 2 and 3.
