It looks like this might have been fixed by T188105#4018154

I'm not sure if there is a better way the tool could handle this though?

I'll leave this open for @Legoktm to decide what to do.

I'm going to be lazy and say that ldap shouldn't have invalid data in it, so it's OK for the tool to fail in those cases :)
