Just noting that this is easy to implement, if the pages we're trying to track are in the mainspace like they are with Wikipedias.

@Shouston_WMF Sorry for the ping, am I correct that this would work just like the Wikipedias? As in, simply count the edits to the mainspace?

I think it might vary by project. We won't be doing this ticket as is but instead go project by project after commons and Wikidata are covered. We can let this ticket be for now.

Okay, do you know if Wikisource in particular will work the same as Wikipedias? I ask only because there was one user at WMCON who was hopeful to use Grant Metrics for this in their May 5 event. If it's as simple as whitelisting it I figure we might as well do it.

I think the hard part here is figuring out what statistics do they want to see for Wikisource. I can imagine several:

  • Number of texts uploaded
  • Number of pages uploaded
  • Number of pages proofread
  • Number of pages validated

etc.

I believe Sati is traveling at the moment. Let's wait on this for a bit.

Yes I believe you are right. Assuming relevant edits are made in the mainspace, it might still be helpful to see the number of pages created and improved to get a sense of participation, but indeed it's not that comprehensive or tailored to the project.
