Replace all "tracking" tasks with tags/projects (if unbounded), relabel them to outcome tasks (if bounded), or kill them entirely (if pointless)
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

The idea of Tracking-Neverending tasks is a Bugzilla way of thinking and not really appropriate to Phab. We've talked informally about it since before we migrated, but we've not actually finished it. It looks like we currently have 383 such tasks. Let's start working to finish them off, and archive the tracking tag whilst we're at it.

General +1, but I'd love to kill a good bunch of irrelevant tracking tasks, as I don't like categorization for the sake of categorization if nearly nobody cares to categorize.

Jdforrester-WMF renamed this task from Replace all "tracking" tasks with tags/projects (if unbounded) or relabel them to outcome tasks (if bounded) to Replace all "tracking" tasks with tags/projects (if unbounded), relabel them to outcome tasks (if bounded), or kill them entirely (if pointless).Apr 20 2018, 6:36 PM

There was a bit of work on this before and the Tracking-Neverending project's workboard reflects some of that: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/board/134/
