The information at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/FAQ is not very detailed, not very topical, and not aware of federation issues.

e.g. how to change the logo, license or user rights in a new Wikibase/ WDQS installation.

There are docs for federation @ https://github.com/wikimedia/mediawiki-extensions-Wikibase/blob/master/docs/federation.wiki

I imagine we can pull some stuff from there.

Where should this FAQ stuff go? Also on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/FAQ ?

Yes, I think it will be good if all of this new info can go on the main Wikibase FAQ – maybe under a federation sub-heading.

This task probably needs to be rescoped or subtasks created:

  • The FAQ has been updated a lot in the previous three years; it's a living document on a wiki, publicly editable
    • I'm working on adding some questions from partnerships this week
  • Logo change is linked as per T205021
  • Federation could definitely use some better documentation, but it belongs on the Federation page which is already linked. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/Federation
  • Licensing could use a link
  • User rights could use a link
