Event Timeline
The Chrome web store requires assigning a category to the extension. These are the available options (none particularly applicable IMO):
- Accessibility
- Blogging
- Developer Tools
- Fun
- News & Weather
- Photos
- Productivity
- Search Tools
- Shopping
- Social & Communication
- Sports
Which of these should we go with?
FWIW Instapaper and Pocket are categorized under "Productivity" so maybe that's the closest?
Thanks, seems reasonable to me.
Do we have a general apps team contact email for things like this?
Any need to embargo these until the announcement goes out, or should I just go ahead and publish?
Looks like it's possible (though not required) to add categories to the extension for (desktop) Firefox as well as Firefox for Android, too.
Maybe "Bookmarks" for desktop Firefox and "User Interface" for Firefox for Android?
Also, sorry for not catching this earlier, but there's a 250-character limit for the entire description for the Firefox addon store.
Edit: proposed description:

- hi @Mholloway - my vote is for the 3rd one but perhaps it could be "web" instead of "desktop":

- +1 to the Firefox store categories
+ @LGoto - can a mobile-apps@ or similar alias be set up if one does not yet exist?
Any need to embargo these until the announcement goes out, or should I just go ahead and publish?
Would be great if you can publish and add the store links to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Apps/Reading_list_browser_extension
Sorry, there is room for the full detail text, it just wasn't clear from the submission screen (which doesn't allow for editing the full profile—that happens after submission).
@Mholloway I'd go with Productivity. I think you're good to push this live at your discretion, no need to wait for embargo/posts.
They are live as of about half an hour ago!

I'll write up some publication notes for future reference and then close this out.
@Mholloway Awesome!
re: mobile-apps@ I can look into this. In the meanwhile, I guess use the ios/android email lists - unfortunately out of phab, but best for now.
