Similar to CSS it would be useful to have an SVG tag.

Generally in favor; though we will have to make clear the difference to Wikimedia-SVG-rendering and I'm wondering how to phrase that.
The latter might be for issue with displaying files in SVG format which were uploaded by users to Wikimedia websites, maybe?
