Use dark/black background for loading screen

Description

User story

As a user who prefers dark/black theme, I want the loading screen to be dark as well when opening in a low light environment.

Original task description
From OTRS: https://ticket.wikimedia.org/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentTicketZoom;TicketID=10693382

The app loading screen (white background with Wikipedia logo) should respect the Dark/Black theme, especially for people usually read in a low light environment.

Hi.
Wikipedia and the app are awesome, and YOU are awesome for supporting it/them.

I would like to suggest a fix for what I consider a bug.

Since a recent update, I get a brief loading screen before any contents appear (possibly just because I am on an older phone). It's just the Wikipedia logo on a plain white background.
The idea of a loading screen is fine.
But I have my app set to use the dark theme - and that fullscreen flash of white is blinding.
Please make the loading screen respect the dark theme.

Thank you very much,
-Edward Bassett

It is, by definition, impossible for the loading screen to respect the dark/light theme, since the loading screen is shown before the app is loaded, i.e. before the app is aware which theme is selected. Furthermore:

  • Showing the Wikipedia globe logo on a white background is required by the Wikimedia trademark guidelines.
  • Every Google app follows the same pattern of showing the app logo on a white background.

At our next grooming, we should either decline this task, or revert to showing an always-dark loading screen.

We decided to use the globe when originally updating this to use the globe rather then the "W" mark, and the visual guidelines mentioned that the logo should not be on colored background:
https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Visual_identity_guidelines#toc-donot

However, re-reading the the guideline there is more flexibility in showing the globe when it is on its own on a gradient background, so we can consider updating to something like the following to keep the night-themers happy:

LGTM on Nexus 5 (6.0.1) and Nexus 7 (8.0) on Wikipedia v2.3.232-alpha-2018-05-14. OK to moving direct to sign-off as it's a minor UI-only change
