How to embed structured data in wiki pages using Microdata
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

What:
Microdata is an HTML5 extension supported by MediaWiki parsers that allows to embed structured data in HTML, and, so, wiki pages. It allows to build templates that emit a structured data version of there content at the same time as the human-readable rendered version. This structured data version could then be easily parsed by tools and bots to allow fast and simple data extraction.
This session is going to introduce Microdata and showcase some examples, some in interaction with Wikidata. Basic knowledge of wikitext/HTML is required (but nothing else).
