"Invalid Format: Firefox could not install the search engine" for opensearch_desc.php on Wikipedias

Description

[First time on Phabricator. I hope this is ok to report this issue here.]

I cannot add the French version of Wikipedia search engine to Firefox (version 60.0.1 in English).
Firefox detects the search engine and proposes to "Add Wikipedia (fr)" to the search engines.
But it fails and returns:
"Invalid Format"
"Firefox could not install the search engine from: https://fr.wikipedia.org/w/opensearch_desc.php"

Steps to reproduce:
Go to fr.wikipedia.org then try to add the search engine.

I deleted my firefox profile and tried again. No luck.
Not sure if this is a Wikipedia or Firefox issue.

Hi @Thedude52, thanks for taking the time to report this and welcome to Phabricator!

Go to fr.wikipedia.org then try to add the search engine.

I guess that means following the steps on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-or-remove-search-engine-firefox

I can reproduce the problem but wonder how to get better debug information from Firefox. That error message is not helpful as the file exists at https://fr.wikipedia.org/w/opensearch_desc.php
