Document uploading SSH keys to Striker / Toolsadmin
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In trying to fix a problem with another site I managed to change my ssh private key and had to generate a new public private key pair. I'm not sure where to upload the new key.

Event Timeline

Though, I can't find the documentation on this on either Help:Getting_Started or Help:Toolforge. Help:Access#Prerequisites says to upload to wikitech, which is more for cloud VPS than toolforge (and considering OSM will be removed...).

This is something toolforge inherits from the cloud VPS level. You can still use https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-openstack - pretty sure this is part of LDAPAuthentication, not OpenStackManager (despite the tab?)

Hi @SalixAlba . We are just doing some clean up... do you still need help with this issue? If not, please let us know if we can close this ticket.

Fixed thanks. I had a lot of problems as the other site advised using ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 to generate the key. This didn't seem to play well with toolforge.
