I am not sure if this was a conscious decision by @Nirzar, but I definitely remember deliberately aligning it that way. Here is a screenshot from the zeplin mock:

From clarifying conversation with @Nirzar, that has been intended for visual balance of the circle versus the text block underneath. See https://design.wikimedia.org/style-guide/visual-style_icons.html#creating-icons for some insights on appearance of different shapes to each other for harmonious resemblence.
