Description

https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Ladies%27_Home_Journal_Vol.12_No.03_(February,_1895).pdf&page=8

Several thumbnails seem to be missing. When I try to view the image I get a page saying:
"Error
Our servers are currently under maintenance or experiencing a technical problem. Please try again in a few minutes.
See the error message at the bottom of this page for more information.
If you report this error to the Wikimedia System Administrators, please include the details below.
Error: 429, Too Many Requests at Mon, 25 Jun 2018 07:52:38 GMT"

Other files in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Ladies%27_Home_Journal,_1895 seem to be having the same problem. I found T115813 but that was closed.

But browsing through the years at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:1904_books_PDF_files (only looking at the first page) it doesn't seem to happen a lot. Looks like whatever happened to cause these files to output a blank thumbnail or throw an error is no longer occurring. I can't reproduce the problem locally, and purging the files causes new, working thumbnails to be generated. If there are files that can't be fixed with a purge and bypassing your cache, please file a new task.
