Interactive elements should be hidden on the print page
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

  1. Open https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monade?printable=yes (available via "Printable version" link in the sidebar).
  2. See "Jump to navigation", "Jump to search", "[hide]" interactive links which are useless on the print page. Those should be hidden.

(Did the team explicitly request to add this task to their backlog at Web-Team-Backlog?)

No, was just trying to select an appropriate tag.

If you were to actually print the page, the links do not appear – here's the output of Chrome's print-to-PDF feature:

The "Printable version" in the sidebar is somewhat unnecessary – if you print directly from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monade, you get the exact same result. It is a relic of the dark, dark times when you couldn't define a different stylesheet for printing. Presumably some print stylesheet somwhere is not defined to be used for the fake "printable version" styles.

This was already fixed for Vector, but not with Monobook T250232: "Jump links" aren't hidden on print version with Monobook skin.
Closing as partially fixed, with a more specific ticket for the remaining work.
