Donation page to be displayed in Romanian if located in Moldova
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Site https://donate.wikimedia.org redirects to specific pages depending on country in which site is accessed.

In Romania, a visitor is redirected to https://donate.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:LandingPage&country=RO&uselang=en-gb&utm_medium=spontaneous&utm_source=fr-redir&utm_campaign=spontaneous and the page is displayed in Romanian
In Moldova, redirection goes to https://donate.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:LandingPage&country=MD&uselang=en&utm_medium=spontaneous&utm_source=fr-redir&utm_campaign=spontaneous and the page is displayed in English

EXPECTED:
If site can identify a visitor from Moldova, it should display the page in Romanian, Moldova's official language.

I think there's some confusion here. Both of the links given are in English.

The language used is not determined by the country of access. If uselang is specified in a link to donate.wikimedia.org (e.g. as in the links provided, or the sidebar links on Wikimedia sites) that language will be used. If the link has no uselang parameter then the language defaults to that in the browser's [Accept-Language](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Headers/Accept-Language) setting.

What is different between the two links is the currency displayed in the form on the right, which is determined by country. Our credit card processor does not support payments in Moldovan leu, so we fall back to US dollars in Moldova. This is not something we can fix.
