PNG rendering of SVG image gets outline that's not supposed to be there
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

The following files get an outline, but only on the red part, that didn't use to be there. It's pretty new (within the last week or so). When you open the SVG file itself there is no such outline. Don't know if this affects more files – I checked the other Wikimedia project logos, and they don't seem to have the same thing. The original SVG code is quite old (from 2006/2007), so maybe they're a bit outdated and need some updates? The first one is protected though, so I can't try that there.

@jhsoby: Could you attach a screenshot of the problem please?
Either I don't see an outline here on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikimania.svg for the 99x121px PNG thumbnail and on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikimania_logo_with_text.svg for the 140x155 PNG thumbnail, or I'm too stupid to understand what you mean by outline. :)

Sorry, I thought I had closed this. It turned out to be a browser issue with Chrome – IIRC, the thing I needed to do to fix this (on my machine) was to enable "GPU rasterization" on chrome://flags, and everything went back to normal. So it wasn't actually a Wikimedia-specific problem at all.

Glad you found the reason, and thanks for sharing it (in case someone runs into this again)! :)
