database dumps are frozen?

Description

The list at https://dumps.wikimedia.org/backup-index-bydb.html is last updated on 2018-08-20 23:01:26

Event Timeline

The dumps are actually running and index.html files being generated locally but the html files have not been copied over to the web server yet. I am looking into this.

The rsyncs are taking extra long right now to complete, but once they do a new round will start up and the new index.html files should arrive. The last tarball was created April 21 at 01:16 or so, and the rsync across the three backend hosts for the xml/sql dumps and the misc files has simply taken this long to complete a round. I'll look into that slowdown further and see if we can be cleverer about tarball generation, perhaps setting one up for copy to each backend separately.

Change 454549 had a related patch set uploaded (by ArielGlenn; owner: ArielGlenn):
[operations/puppet@production] tar up dumps status files for rsync for each back end in turn

ArielGlenn claimed this task.

The immediate issue is fixed. The underlying issue (sometimes rsyncs take too long) is still a problem. That is the subject of a new task T202614 and this one is being closed.
