mul.wikisource.org/wiki/* should redirect to the multi-lingual portal wikisource.org/wiki/*

Description

Now that T75407 is complete and migration from Bugzilla happened long ago, I am reviving T1257. As I wrote before:

The ISO code for multi-lingual resources is <code>mul</code> and this was recently added to the interwiki map to allow for links such as <code>OldWikisource Main Page</code> but there's no mul.wikisource.org.

Again, note that mul.ws *does* exist now--thanks for that. Now, we should make that a functioning subdomain so we can have a clean landing pad just like at wikibooks.org or wiktionary.org, etc. <code>mul</code> is a valid ISO code and should be the subdomain. All incoming links to wikisource.org (e.g. https://wikisource.org/wiki/User:Koavf or https://www.wikisource.org/wiki/User:Koavf) should redirect to the mul.ws equivalent (i.e. https://mul.wikisource.org/wiki/User:Koavf) except for Main Page and a handful of other names that would be an index.

Maybe we should do samething as T188776, to make a new non-"powered by MediaWiki" www.wikisource.org

Making good-looking and engaging home pages is a long-term task that really should have been done awhile ago. :/

The task summary says "mul.wikisource.org should redirect to the multi-lingual portal wikisource.org".
I just went to https://mul.wikisource.org/ . I ended up being redirected to https://wikisource.org/wiki/Main_Page which is a multi-lingual portal.

Is this task fixed?

The task description is not very clear, but I believe what is desired is that all possible links to https://mul.wikisource.org/something are redirected to https://wikisource/org/something. Currently this works for the main page as you said, but if I enter https://mul.wikisource.org/wiki/User:Koavf, I'm not redirected to https://wikisource.org/wiki/User:Koavf but I land instead on the main page.

Yes, what Candalua said should happen. mul.ws/wiki/foo should redirect to ws/wiki/foo not just the main page.

Aklapper renamed this task from mul.wikisource.org should redirect to the multi-lingual portal wikisource.org to mul.wikisource.org/wiki/* should redirect to the multi-lingual portal wikisource.org/wiki/*.Fri, Nov 23, 6:40 PM
