Conduct exploratory testing of poll notifications in the Android app. Some initial cases outlined below.
Scenario A. User enables polling notifications successfully
Pre-requisite: User is logged into Wikipedia account A, and has not enabled polling of notifications.
Steps outlined in T201429
Scenario B. User chooses NOT to enable polling notifications
Pre-requisite: User is logged into Wikipedia account A, and has not enabled polling of notifications.
Steps outlined in T201429
Scenario C. User can see each available notification type successfully
Steps outlined in T201933
Scenario D. Actions taken to mark notifications as read in the app are reflected in the web UI, and vice versa.
- User and marks a message as "read" from within the Android app
- User goes to view their Notifications on the website. It is expected the same message will also be marked as read.
- User marks a Welcome/Milestone/Thank you message as being unread in the website.
- User returns to their Android app.It is expected the same message from step 3 will be shown as unread.
Scenario E. Notifications from different language Wikipedias and WikiProjects appear correctly in the app
For this test, the users will need to be sent a Thank you or Welcome or edit Milestone message from at least 1 Wikipedia in another language, as well as one from Wikidata and Commons.
The expectation is that the message will have the correct icon/language tag indicating which project the notification was from, as well as the message showing in the correct language and format.
