Ask for community feedback on the 2017+2018 DevSupport wishlist process
Closed, DeclinedPublic2 Estimated Story Points

Description

This focuses on the wishlist process, for the impact of the implemented solutions see T199105

2017 was the first time we ran the wishlist. There are likely multiple things we can do better in 2018 with respect to:

  • organising the wishlist
  • communicating the wishlist results
  • communicating the progress of the selected wishes
  • communicating launched wishes
  • requesting feedback from the community

Since we didn't get this rolling before starting the 2018 wishlist the 217 feedback can be combined with the 2018 feedback on the handling of the wishlist.

This feedback will be collected on the discussion page of the 2018 wishlist and, once the voting is over, summarised and published to that page (and implemented in the 2018 work going forwards).

Lokal_Profil moved this task from Backlog to In progress on the WMSE-Development-Support-2018 board.

A suggestion is that links from the subpages to Phabricator boards should be done using query/all/ to also show closed tasks.

@Alicia_Fagerving_WMSE I'll set you as the lead for collecting and summarising the feedback once the voting is over. When that is done we can schedule a short meeting to decide what concrete changes we need to implement for the 2018 handling of the project.

Removing task assignee due to inactivity, as this open task has been assigned to the same person for more than two years (see the emails sent to the task assignee on Oct27 and Nov23). Please assign this task to yourself again if you still realistically [plan to] work on this task - it would be welcome.
(See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bug_management/Assignee_cleanup for tips how to best manage your individual work in Phabricator.)

Setting T274892 as a parent task since this evaluation forms part of the background of why we are trying a different approach.

@Alicia_Fagerving_WMSE Did we ever summarise this feedback?

Since this happened while I was away:
a) Did we conduct such a survey?
b) Did we summarise the feedback?

Way to far back in time to still be relevant
