Page status indicator icons not working on Albanian Wikiquote
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

We can't seem to use topicons at the Albanian Wikiquote. We're checking our articles for a few we can feature or list them as good articles but the imported templates from Wikipedia for featured and good articles don't work on Wikiquote. The topicons never show even if you place the code directly, without a template. Is there anyway to fix this and add them as a possibility at Wikiquote?

Can you provide some examples please? What do you expect to work? What's not working? Are you using https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Page_status_indicators ?

Hi @Klein, thanks for taking the time to report this!
Unfortunately this report lacks some information. If you have time and can still reproduce the problem: Please add a more complete description to this report.
That can be a clear list of specific steps to reproduce the situation, as little details sometimes matter, so that nobody needs to guess how you performed each step, describing actual results and expected results after performing the steps to reproduce, providing a link to a public website where the issue can be seen, if you see the same behavior when you are not logged in, information about your web browser(s), MediaWiki version information (if it is not on a Wikimedia wiki), etc.
You can edit the task description by clicking Edit Task.
Ideally, exact and clear steps to reproduce should allow any other person to follow these steps (without having to interpret those steps) and see the same results. Problems that others can reliably reproduce can get fixed faster. Thanks!

Hello, @Aklapper! I'm sorry I've not been clear enough but I'm new around here and...

I was referring to page status indicators (top icons). We're trying to use them to indicate the statuses of the good and featured articles on the Albanian Wikiquote. Unfortunately, even if I follow all the directions mentioned on the help page on Mediawiki (mentioned above by @Legoktm) nothing happens. No icons ever appears at the top of the page, whatever the icons chosen. I've tried using the syntax with and without a template on different pages and nothing happens. Maybe I'm doing something wrong and there's no real bug in it, but I've been trying for the last two days unsuccessfully so, either way, a little help would be greatly appreciated.

@Klein: Please provide steps that allow someone else to see the problem, including links, and what you expect where to happen.
Please see my previous comment.

Here is the Albanian Wikiquote Sandbox: https://sq.wikiquote.org/wiki/Wikiquote:Livadhi
Here is the English Wikiquote Sandbox: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Wikiquote:Sandbox

Try using the following wikitext on both pages.

<indicator name="foo">[[File:Cscr-featured.png|20px]]</indicator>

On the English one, a golden star appears at the top of the page.
On the Albanian one, nothing happens.

Cannot reproduce in Firefox 62. Shows a golden star just like the English one here.

Could you please try again with safemode=1? This allows you to test if a problem is because of your user scripts or personal gadgets without uninstalling them. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Locating_broken_scripts for more information.

Are there any errors (such as "404") in the "network" tab of your browser? See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Locating_broken_scripts too for that.

I tried using "safemode=1" and it worked. Now it always works. Is this normal/good?

I'm using Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100. I never got any errors displayed.

It must be a problem in my user scripts/gadgets I guess? I'm not sure how to fix it though. :/

Closing this task as this seems to be an individual issue and nothing to fix in Wikimedia deployed code.
