Description

I was editing a page in VisualEditor and completely broke the page.
I copied the important bits and refreshed the page but the page continues to be broken.

How can I restore the existing version?

You can explicitly close the editor and discard unsaved changes by pressing Escape on your keyboard, or by clicking on the "Read" tab.

But we should have a more obvious way to do it. T85470: Users are requesting a "Cancel and exit without saving" option

I guess this is not working in Minerva... I tried closing and refreshing the window with no luck...

Hm, in the mobile editor, you should be able to use the button in top-left corner to close the editor:

Or do you mean the desktop editor on Minerva?

was using desktop Minerva.
