Create Meta pages for content requiring translation

Description

The following requires translation via Meta pages:

  • Partner descriptions (short and long)
  • Partner tags
  • Collection descriptions

Send Instructions is also a field that lives in the database, but this can contain information that we might not want to post publicly on Meta. Since partners only have one or two coordinators, whose languages we know, I think we can just organise limited translation of these into the appropriate languages ourselves.

We can create a page at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/The_Wikipedia_Library/Translate containing all the information on what can be translated for TWL and where, including a section on the Library Card platform. Platform translations can then live at subpages of this page. Perhaps something like Translate/Partners/42, Translate/Streams/3, Translate/Tags/7.

Samwalton9 created this task.

The Education-Program-Dashboard uses a template for formatting the data stored on Meta, but this may not be necessary here. Those pages can contain other data such as CSS and images, whereas we should only need to be including text.

The scope of this task includes porting over the existing data to those pages.

Short descriptions can be found in the immediate subpages of Library Card platform/Translation/Partners/Short description based on the partner IDs (eg.: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Library_Card_platform/Translation/Partners/Short_description/22)

Similarly long descriptions in Library Card platform/Translation/Partners/Long description (eg.: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Library_Card_platform/Translation/Partners/Long_description/22)

@Samwalton9 although we don't actively use collection descriptions, there's a chance we might. Have we thought about the page naming scheme of possibly multiple collection descriptions? Something like Library Card platform/Translation/Partners/<partner_id>/Collection description/<collection_id> or simply Library Card platform/Translation/Partners/Collection description/<collection_id> or something else?

Good question. I think probably the 2nd is fine - we're going to have a potentially manual process to list them in a way that makes them easy to find anyway, so I don't think it's a big deal.
