The input method dropdown scrolls to the top when clicking on a section in CX for the second time

Description

Problem:

When translation of a new section is started in CX2, the input method dropdown is displayed next to the editable area. However, if you move away from the section and then come back to it again, the IM dropdown is shown very briefly and vanishes, thus making it impossible to click on it again. If you scroll up, you will see that the IM dropdown is placed near the 'category' section below the page title.

Expected behaviour:

The IM dropdown should stay fixed next to the section which you are editing and usable.

I can reproduce this. AFAIK, this seems similar bug where section jumps to top. @Petar.petkovic Is this already reported?

What I observe is even more prevalent than what description says. Every section only gets IME for a split second, but IME is displayed on the top of the page, where VE surface starts. And, that is the case for any section, regardless of the previous action.

I don't think this is a duplicate. The jump of the content that I reported at T198471 is completely different issue. I have also reported T202711, which is related to IME on Content Translation.

Are you saying that the IME is only shown briefly on all sections and moves to the top, at all times?

Yes, that is what I observed while trying to reproduce this.

yes, this is still happening.
Steps:

  1. Start a translation
  2. Translate a section
  3. Invoke the IM tool (Ctrl+M)
  4. Click on another section of the page outside of the translated section
  5. Click on the previously translated section

ISSUES:

  • The IM tool flashes once every time we click back on the translated section
NOTE:
  • When we translate a new section, the IM tool shows correctly
  • After the IM tool flashes, if the focus is on a translated section, when we press the CTRL key, the IM tool shows correctly
