Description

This task will track the installation and setup of server weblog1001/WMF4750 as a replacement to (old) oxygen.

  • - server was already received in and was part of spares
  • - server already racked
  • - bios/drac/serial setup/testing
  • - update netbox with new hostname
  • - sub-task for label update
  • - mgmt dns entries added for both asset tag and hostname
  • - network port setup (description, enable, vlan)
  • - production dns entries added
  • - operations/puppet update (install_server at minimum, other files if possible)
  • - OS installation
  • - puppet accept/initial run
  • - handoff for service implementation

So, I'm not sure what port this is on, we'll need @Cmjohnson to trace the cable and update the network switch (or atleast this task) with the info.

It'll need to be in the private1-a-eqiad vlan. I can install once this is done, just re-assign back to me.

So this should either go to @elukey or @Ottomata, as this is ready to go into serivice and replace oxygen, then we can decommission oxygen on T211826.

This task can be resolved once you are aware and someone in analytics pushes this into service.

@elukey can do this if he wants to, but I don't think Analytics considers oxygen to be part of its domain :) It's used only by SRE.

Ahh, due to past discussions via linked tasks, I assumed he was part of the refresh-replace, so I made assumptions!
