Get in touch with Gamepedia about their 1.0.0-hydra version
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Gamepedia is using a 1.0.0-hydra version, which is seemingly closed-source and used exclusively on their sites. Note that this is no violation of license terms, as this extension is using ISC instead of GPL.

If they are interested, they should benefit from the new features introduced in the genuine version of the extension (like working with MW 1.32+, better maintainability, tracking categories, etc.), but possible improvements and bugfixes from their side are of interest as well. Ideally, both projects could merge into one at some point.

Maybe, this can even lead to get them invested into public MediaWiki extension development as well.

@MGChecker: Hi! Any news to share? (Asking as tasks should not stay "stalled" forever :)

Aklapper changed the task status from Stalled to Open.Jul 30 2020, 8:50 AM

No reply hence boldly reopening.

Removing task assignee due to inactivity, as this open task has been assigned for more than two years (see emails sent to assignee on May26 and Jun17, and T270544). Please assign this task to yourself again if you still realistically [plan to] work on this task - it would be very welcome!

(See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bug_management/Assignee_cleanup for tips how to best manage your individual work in Phabricator.)

MGChecker claimed this task.

I think with the code published on GitHub, there is not really a thing left to be done here.
