Non-javascript watch action flow needs a more intuitive exit/return to page strategy
Open, LowPublic

Description

@Kaartic points out in T196893#4727233 that when visiting the non-JS fallback for watching a page there is no way to cancel/return to the page.

On Minerva after watching a page you see:

On Vector the experience has similar problems (but at least you can click the "read" tab at the top.

I'm guessing it would make sense for the page title to be a link and to add a "no" option in this form:

Interesting. I didn't think of comparing the experience to Vector. I'm surprised there isn't link in it either.

It might be nice to have an explicit link in the error text to improve user experience. Tapping on the 'Read' tab seems to be a work around in Vector but at least its better than no link at all.

I'm guessing it would make sense for the page title to be a link ...

That sounds to be a good idea but making it the only way to get back to the article is not as the user would have to search for the link.

Just use a cancel button. Its basically a PHP dialog version of a dialog right right? We dont link article titles anywhere as far as I know.

Just use a cancel button.

That gives the missing link between the article and the conformation page but doesn't give you a link between the article and the page you would see next (after clicking 'Yes'). That's my actual concern.

Not something the Growth-Team will have time to work on in the short-to-medium term.
