Verify that EventStreams work with WikiBase MediaInfo
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Once SDC is deployed in production MediaInfo edits happening on Commons should be available on streams.wikimedia.org.

Story

Our SDC pilot project about roundtripping SDC data to GLAM institutions is aiming to use EventStream to harvest changes. An early availability of such changes on streams.wikimedia.org or pre-production availability on the beta cluster would be very valuable to us.

Cool!

EventStreams is deployed in beta, however, real production data does not go there. If your code that generates events is deployed to beta, you should be able to consume those event triggered by actions in beta from stream-beta.wmflabs.org.

How will your events be generated? Are they just regular edits?

@Ottomata I see, I think the current SDC Captions implementations should behave very much as Labels on Wikidata. I'm currently not able to edit captions on beta. But one should soonish be able to do so at any file page:
(random file page, see the captions section): https://commons.wikimedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/File:Hermann_von_Wedigh_III_(died_1560)_MET_DP164836.jpg
