Citoid not fully configured on huwiki
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Basically the only thing I do with the cite editor for an existing, template-based citation is click on citation, click on edit, click on citation again, click on edit again, edit the template, click on save, click on save again. The cite dialog for template-based citations should just incorporate the template editor dialog and spare me the extra clicks.

Which wiki is this on? Citations that contain a single template should take you to the template editor instead, when the wiki is correctly configured.

huwiki. E.g. in this article all citations are a single cite_web template, but they all open up in the "mini-VE" citation editor. Citoid generates cite_web templates, so there is some integration though.

The wiki might well be misconfigured, Citoid integration has only been set up recently I think. I haven't looked at the details of it; will check when I have time.

Yes this is Citoid not being fully configured. Note also the manual tab is empty when creating a new citation.

Esanders renamed this task from Integrate VisualEditor template dialog into cite dialog to Citoid not fully configured on huwiki.Dec 30 2018, 10:48 PM

Correct; this is the https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/VisualEditor/Citation_tool not being configured, not a problem with the citoid configuration.

However, there are some issues with the current config; for instance, someone added an empty template data block to Cite Journal in 2018 and this prevented the correct block from coming through for the last few months meaning no journals were able to be cited :/ I've reverted the change but it's pending review: https://hu.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sablon:Cite_journal/doc&action=history

Tgr claimed this task.

After adding the tool definition, the template editor does come up immediately now. Thanks @Esanders and @Mvolz!
