Discuss about Jeblad's Herald H252
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Currently H252 suggests that:

...
Title includes nowiki
Description includes nowiki
...

I agree that Jeblad should be a trustable subscriber for Norwegian-related tasks, but now I'm really confused with this Herald.

We have a commomly-used parser function called '<nowiki>', and its project is called Parsoid-Nowiki , as far as I know, most of the Parsoid-Nowiki tasks aren't affecting Norwegian, but both rules mentioned above result this user to be automatically subscribed, even nothing affected Norwegian by those tasks.

Should this user consider modifying his Herald to avoid this problem, or we should bear this?

I don't see why this would be a problem for anyone other than Jeblad…? Why is this an issue for you, Liuxinyu?

@jhsoby Because I doubt if ALL the Parsoid-Nowiki can also affect Norwegian users...

But this Herald rule doesn't affect Norwegian users. It only affects what Jeblad subscribes to. If he doesn't want to be subscribed to tasks about <nowiki>, then he knows what and how to change it. I still fail to see why this would be an issue for you.

H252 is a personal rule indeed, not a global rule. It affects nobody but Jeblad's and he decides what to subscribe to. I don't see any issues here?

Unless there are performance concerns we (Phabricator admins) generally do not care what people subscribe to using Herald.
