Check if it is safe to disable logging for purge_abusefilter.pp cron job
Closed, ResolvedPublic

After fixing purgeOldLogIPData.php maintenance script of AbuseFilter we decided to keep logs for the runs of the script at to detect if something went wrong. As time goes by, it doesn't look that we have had any issues so maybe we can just get rid of those server logs.

Before doing so, I'd love to know if we've had any error registered in those logs for prod. I'll try to check Beta Cluster logs myself.

On deployment-mwmaint01 I've checked /var/log/mediawiki/puge_abusefilter.log (last 500 lines) and I didn't see anything wrong. Should I grep for errors as well?

Edit: I did maurelio@deployment-mwmaint01:/var/log/mediawiki$ grep -i 'error' purge_abusefilter.log but that command returned nix.
